Summary: Phuoc Tich is the old quaint village located in the North of Hue City, which has been recognized as National Cultural Heritage Site by Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism of Vietnam.
This 2-day trip will bring you unique experiences of home-stay with local hosts, try cooking skills of Vietnamese traditional dishes with cycling around Phuoc Tich village to visit some old-style houses, family chapel, and communal houses and find Cham culture vestiges still existing in this village.
Another highlight of this journey is a nice cruise on the O Lau River to behold the charming & peaceful scenery of the village. Then we should not miss a visit to handicraft village Thuy Lap famous at the bamboo and rattan weaving for learning how the locals make their traditional production, pause at local market to behold the beautifully true moment of the local daily life.
Day By Day Itinerary:
Day 1
Hue City - Ancient Phuoc Tich Village on bike
Our support van and tour guide will pick you up at your hotel in the centre of Hue City then we cycle to Thu Le village home to traditions of wrestling and boat racing and take a look at the village’s communal house, one of the most impressive ones in Hue.
From here we start biking on along the provincial road running along the bank of Tam Giang lagoon with a stop at one of the well known family chapel here, the Phan Gia chapel. Enjoy the sandy terrain landscape typical of the coastal area of Hue on one side, and on the other is the verdant vegetation of the villages, and on the other side is the vast sandy land dotted by willow trees.
On the way you also visit the handicraft village Thuy Lap with the bamboo and rattan weaving trade then pay a visit to local market. Have lunch and relax on the bank of the O Lau river before getting back on bike ahead to Phuoc Tich village
Arrival Phuoc Tich and check in homestay, then do strolling to visit some of very ancient houses and family chapel, communal houses, some Cham culture vestiges remain, and rice flour making shops. Here we have chance to meet and talk with locals to know more about their routine life.
Late afternoon, back to homestay, we will cook dinner together with local host and enjoy very tasteful dishes then have a cozy sleeping night at Hue’s very old-styled house “Nhà Rường”. Overnigh in Phuoc Tich village.

Day 2
Biking to Thanh Tan hotsprings
Wake up and have simple breakfast like omelet bread or beef noodle (Bun Bo)…with Vietnamese traditional black coffee. Then slowly cruise a sampan along O Lau River to view the charming & peaceful scenery around village with a pause to visit a hand-made pottery workshop to learn how local artisans produce pottery items.
After 45mins boating, we disembark and do a short bike to Thanh Tan Hotspring for refueling your energy. Lunch at the Orchid restaurant at hotsprings. Drive 1 hour back to Hue City. The trip ends at your hotel in Hue.
