Central Area of Vietnam is attractive with many World Heritage Sites including Royal Hue City and Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park, where this 6-day journey will bring visitors to. The trip is made for travelers who are passionate in cycling to explore each beautiful corners of Vietnam, specifically and especially of main Central Vietnam.

In this journey, aside from the main activity as cycling, there are several activities that passengers expect as trying skills of cooking in traditional food of Vietnam, sharing cultural-historical stories with local hosts at home-stay, walking in famous De-militarized Zone of Quang Tri Province, kayaking in Chay River located in Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park, nice cruises on Perfume River of Hue and on Son River to explore mysteriously beautiful Phong Nha - Ke Bang caves.

This is a different way to discover Central Vietnam and also a means to bring us break-away from the modern and busy lives of the urban.

Day By Day Itinerary:

Day 1

Da Nang - Afternoon biking to Hue

At 10.15AM - 10.30AM, our tour guide and vehicle will welcome you at Da Nang International Airport and transfer you to local restaurant for relax coffee & lunch.

After lunch, we will transfer by vehicle to the foot of Hai Van Pass (Sea Cloud Pass) and start our unforgettable biking half-day ride up this fantastic pass. At the top of the pass, stop for sightseeing. This is one of the rarest sites where you can see vestiges of the most significant contemporary eras of the Vietnamese history, vestiges of a fortification built by the Nguyen dynasty, military bunkers left from the war with the French and bunkers from the Vietnam War. From this height, enjoy thrilling views of the surrounding sea and mountains. Now you face the challenge of the downhill ride.

Reach the other foot of this scenic pass and pedal more 20km to arrive beautiful Lang Co Beach. Stop here for relax and enjoy gorgeous sunset then transfer by vehicle to your local house in Hue City, where we will spend two nights and enjoy cozy home- away-from-home.

Have welcome dinner with friendly host family and tight sleep in homestay.

Day 2

Royal city tour on bike

In the morning, depart to Le Loi Boulevard where we will start biking along and we can see the remained French houses, cross the Truong Tien Bridge built in 1899, which has become a Hue's Symbol. Visit the vivid daily lives of the locals at Dong Ba Market. Not far from the Hue Citadel sits this popular market. This is another of the must see sites in Hue. A visit to a food market is always very interesting when you go to a foreign country. This is specially true in Vietnam. Here you can see what people eat on a daily basis. In Vietnamese markets you will also find stalls that sell the local dishes.

Then, we cycle along Dong Ba River - a branch of the romantic Perfume river. Stop for a coffee with the locals in an ancient house if you prefer to. En-route, we could see the waterway where the Kings traveled out their Citadel… Keep cycling to Bao Vinh ancient town which had ever been the bustling trading port for hundred years under Nguyen's reign.

Crossing the green fields, lotus pond…we pedal to the Hue Citadel to visit: Ngo Mon Gate,Thai Hoa Palace, Nine Dynastic Urns, Nine Holy Cannons, The Mieu Temple…The Imperial City in Hue is a walled fortress and palace in the former capital of Vietnam of the last Feudal Dynasty in Vietnam - Nguyen Dynasty.

Leave the Citadel; we cycle to King Tu Duc's tomb to learn more about the Royal life. Visit the Incense stick & conical hat making village nearby the tomb.

Later, we cycle along the Perfume River to An Hien Garden house - a typical of Hue ancient's architecture house. You are welcomed with fruits and tea from the host upon arrival. Soak your soul in the sound of bell from Thien Mu Pagoda - one of the best known religious sites, with a 21 meters high octagonal tower, has become a symbol of Hue. Here we can see the octagonal tower, a symbol of Hue and an old Austin car which transported the bonze Thich Quang Duc to Saigon in 1963 for his self-immolation.

Do not miss the Sunset scene on the river, you then cruise the Dragon boat on Perfume River to return the city and transfer back to Homestay for dinner with host family. Overnight in Hue

Day 3

Hue City - Ancient Phuoc Tich Village

After simple breakfast at local house and say good bye to Hue host family, we transfer northward to Tam Giang Lagoon and from here start biking on coastal road to reach Phuoc Tich Village.

Arrival Phuoc Tich village for lunch  and continue discovering Ancient Phuoc Tich on bike by visiting some of very ancient houses and family chapels, a hand-made pottery workshop to learn how local artisans produce pottery items, then a visit to rice flour making shop.

Keep on biking around the village to view the charming scenery, communal houses, river wharfs and some Cham culture vestiges remain. We will have chance to meet and talk with locals to know more about their routine life.

Late afternoon, we will cook dinner together with local host and enjoy very tasteful dishes then have a cozy sleeping night at Hue's very old-styled house "Nhà Rường". Overnigh in Phuoc Tich village.

Day 4

Phuoc Tich Village - DMZ at Quang Tri - Chay Lap Homestay at Quang Binh

We will not bike this day to save energy for next day of exploring Phong Nha-Ke Bang. Morning, simple breakfast & check-out then transfer by vehicle to Quang Tri Province, we visit some remained places on the DMZ (Demilitarized Military Zone) route such as: Hien Luong Bridge, Vinh Moc Tunnels via Tung Mouth Beach. Have lunch at local restaurant.

Afternoon, We reach the former Ho Chi Minh Trail and transfer to Chay Village of Quang Binh Province, a door step to Phong Nha - Ke Bang Heritage. Arrival Rustic Chay Lap, we check in the home stay.

Evening, you are invited to prepare the dinner with the host. Learn something about the local seasonal food, a typical one such as "Steamed Fish with Beer, served along with local herbs". Enjoy your dinner by your style.

Overnight in Rustic Chay Lap (Quang Binh).

Day 5

Explore World Heritage Phong Nha Ke Bang

Morning, after a simple breakfast with host, we start biking to Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park. Hear the call of the wild and the sounds of primates bounce off the stunning limestone cliffs on western Ho Chi Minh trail as the newly paved single lane road snakes through one of Vietnam's most important conservation areas and most important historic trail during the war.

On the biking route, we will jump out from bikes and meet up with Chay River for 1 hour of kayaking on. After crossing Chay River, disembark and keep pedaling around the national park to admire the fresh air and the biodiversity eco-system of Phong Nha Ke Bang Park. Depending on your health, you can keep on biking to visit Hang 8 Co (8 Misses cave), a memorial site for the volunteers died while building and maintaining the highway 20 during the war. Picnic lunch is served in the park.

Afternoon, on arrival at the boat landing, transfer on the wooden boat on Son River to Phong Nha cave - the World Natural Heritage site. Discover the magnificent beauty of the caves. Return the homestay.

Dinner and overnight in Rustic Chay Lap.

Day 6

Chay Lap - Dong Hoi Airport

Have simple breakfast and enjoy your free time to walk and explore the village until 9.30AM, you will leave this peaceful Chay Lap to Dong Hoi for next destination. The trip concludes at Dong Hoi Airport or Dong Hoi Railway Station.
