Day By Day Itinerary:

Day 1

Hanoi - Xuan Thuy National Park: Cruising & Bird-watching Trip At 8.00 AM, our tour guide and vehicle wil pick you up at in Hanoi and drive head south-east 150km to reach Xuan Thuy National Park. After 3.5 hour ride, we reach the Park Center and check in then enjoy lunch with local dishes and relax here. Then 1.30 PM we start our 3 hour cruise to Ba Lat sea gate on Red River. This boat trip allows us to get the most complete overview of the National Park by visiting a great area of the mangrove forest as well as the key sites of the area. Departs from Tien Hai Lighthouse and its Environmental Education House across Red River, our boat takes us to Xanh Islet to learn about the history of land reclamation and dike construction then arrive Lu Islet to visit Causerinas forest and observe migratory birds (gulls) finding food in the Tra River. If we visit Lu islet of Xuan Thuy National Park in winter, we may see several rare and endangered species of birds such as the Spoon-billed Sandpiper, Nordmann's Greenshank, Grey-headed Lapwing, Asian Dowitcher and Black-faced Spoonbill who regularly stop in Xuan Thuy. The boat transfer us back to Park Headquarter where we will have dinner and overnight here. (Basic guest house) Activity: 3 - 4 hours of cruising and bird viewing Meals: Lunch, Dinner

Day 2

Xuan Thuy National Park: Easy Trekking Trip - Transfer back to Hanoi At 8.00 AM, after breakfast at the Park Center, we start our trekking day to experience village life and gain understanding of the community's relationship with the mangrove forest. Depart at Park Center, we will walk through the forest to visit the shrimp ponds of Con Ngan Island for observing how locals works and hike along dirt trails to the new villages of Dien Bien and Tan Hong to see the daily lives of villagers. The intensive aquaculture of these villages leads to a strict observation of the forest, birds, crabs, fish, and shrimp to ensure long-term profits. Here we also have chance to view some of small and old Churches & Pagodas. Back to Park Center for lunch and fresh shower then check out and drive back to Hanoi. The trip concludes at your hotel in Hanoi around 5.00PM Activity: 8 kms of trekking Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
