The major Vietnam Religions are as follows
Buddhism: This religion was introduced in the 2nd century AD in Vietnam. Buddhism in Vietnam flourished during the ruling period of the Ly dynasty.
Catholicism: In the 17th century Catholicism was introduced in this country. The Ho Nai-Bien Hoa in Dong Nai Province to the South of Vietnam and Bui Chu-Phat Diem in the northern province of Ninh Binh are the most thickly populated Catholic areas.
Protestantism: It was also introduced in the 17th century AD to Vietnam. Protestantism in Vietnam remains less popular. Most of the protestant people live in the Central Highland.
Islam: Islam is followed by around 50,00 people who inhabit the central part of the country. The followers mainly belong to the Cham ethnic group.
Caodaism: This religion was introduced in 1926. About 2 million people follow this religion. They live in the South Vietnam.
Hoa Hao Sect: It was introduced in 1939. About 1 million people who live in the South-West of Vietnam follow this religion.
